Treasurer’s Report:  Dawn has been able to transfer approximately 24 student accounts into google docs, hoping to have them complete by January.  There is $34,845.44 in the band boosters account. Quite a few students have not paid for band camp yet, these students will be contacted.

Communications committee:  There has not been a committee meeting as of yet.

Correspondence:  The band received a thank you note from Dowagiac for allowing their band to come to the playoff game and participate with our band.

Fundraisers:  Delivery of Little Ceasars pizza will be December 16 at 1 pm and will be ready for pick up by students and parents at the Middle School 2:30 to 6:30 pm. We are planning on having the spaghetti dinner this year on or before March 11, 2017, more info to come.  Sherry offered to look into other possible fundraisers for the kids.

Director’s Report:  7 student’s participated in All Star band, the student’s did great and the conductor was great. Jared Jaggi made All State Band, one of only 19 trumpets in the state. He will perform January 21, 2017 in Grand Rapids at 8:45 am.  Pep band starts in January, it is voluntary, students who perform in majority (example: 8 out of 10) of games will receive a chevron. 18 MS students participated in solo and Ensemble, all of the students performed well.  Christmas concert will be on Monday December 12, 2016.  Help is needed during the day to walk students from the MS to HS for rehearsal. Parents are also needed during the concert to help chaperone the students. HS Solo and Ensemble will be February 9 and February 10, 2017 at Lake Michigan College. Pre-festival concert will be February 22, 2017, 7 pm at the High School. On December 1, 2016 student’s performed in small ensemble at the Berrien Springs tree lighting festivities, they all did a great job.

Unfinished Business:  Ai Mee gathered some quotes from a local seamstress.  Her rate is $16.00/hr.  The seamstress is also willing to teach a handful of parent volunteers how to do the hemming properly, her charge is $10/person up to 10 people, a larger group would be $50/hr.  Looking into some options for a HS “lock-in”, it would not be overnight, maybe 7pm to midnight and we could use the school. A special events committee was formed consisting of Becky, Tammie, Sherry, Wendy and Rhonda. Communications Committee has been renamed to Public Relations Committee.  Looking into a few different option for having an 8th grade parent meeting to give them an opportunity to ask questions about HS Marching Band and to distribute information to them about HS band in general. The “reveal” party for the next years marching show needs to be sometime between March 13 and March 31, an evening after school, more information to come.

New Business:  Art Keen has offered to help with shelving concerns with the band trailer.  The trailer is already installed with an ETrack system, just need to find and organize all of the bungees, tie downs and shelves that go with it. The uniform racks need to be repaired and stabilized before next marching season.  SMC concert Saturday December 10 at 2pm, there are 4 band Alumni that will be performing. Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra will be performing Sunday December 11, 4 pm at Bridgman HS.

Motion to adjourn meeting was made by Jay and seconded by Rhonda.

Meeting adjourned at 8:57 pm
