Students have Smart Music assignments that are due. I will be adding some assignments for Sleigh Ride and for additional scales. Please be checking our Google Classroom and your Smart Music dashboard for additions.

Smart Music recommends an external microphone and headphones to help with accuracy and precision on assignments. Students may stay after school to record as well.

Students interested in HS solo and ensemble: you’ll receive your HS S&E info form on Monday. S&E dates are February 10/11. Entry due date is Monday, November 21st. Fee to participate is $9 per person per event.

MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Upcoming Events:

December 3rd – Solo and Ensemble @ Edwardsburg HS (select students)

December 12th – Winter Concert @ 7pm in the HS gym.

6th grade percussion auditions: Monday, 6th graders will be given the option to pick up an audition form for percussion. Percussion is not just “drums”. It is everything from the snare drum to the xylophone to the triangle. Percussionists must be flexible and patient. There may be times where they have to stand and wait for a long time. The letter they receive on Monday will explain the requirements and expectations for potential percussionists. Only 5 students will be selected. Those students will need to switch from their current instrument to percussion. Feel free to contact Mrs. Rosselit if you have questions.

All students should be practicing their winter concert music and/or book assignments at home. Practice recommendation is 20 minutes a day.

LITTLE CAESAR’S PIZZA FUNDRAISER

This past week, we kicked off our annual Fall Fundraiser. All band students were given a Little Caesar’s Pizza Fundraiser catalog and asked to make a selling goal of 5 kits. Students are encouraged to sell to family and friends to raise money for the band and for their band accounts. The band is growing and will need to purchase additional uniforms for marching and concert seasons. Money placed in student accounts can be used for band camps and future band trips. If you have family out of town that want to support our fundraiser, you can direct them to the following link:
